We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, collaborative, curious, energised and entrepreneurial candidate, who feel comfortable in working together in an international highly qualified team, expressing leadership and a problem-solving mindset, while engaging with us in the earlier phases of pharmaceutical research, regulatory processes and business development operations of our novel antifibrinolytic compound. You will be a Scientific Project and Business Development Manager. As we are a very lean start-up organization, this role will report directly to the CEO of the company.


  • Project management expertise and application of standard tools to structure, monitor and timely deliver project plans (e.g. gantt chart)
  • Identification, assessment and implementation of prioritised business development opportunities
  • Technical assessment and market research activities
  • Organised documentation management (e.g. grants applications, R&D technical partnerships, etc.)
  • Management of patent maintenance
  • Identification of funding opportunities (e.g. investors, demo days, etc.)
  • Promotion of the establishment of license agreements (in-licensing or out-licensing)


  • PhD with experience in research and in life sciences
  • Previous experience in startups would be preferable
  • Proficiency level of fluency in English. Desirable also advanced level in Spanish or Catalan. Additional multilanguage skills will be preferred.
  • Competences and skills: full-knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management packages, working within shared folders and remote/virtual environments, including standard video conference spaces, Leadership, Teamwork, Proactivity, Problem-solving, Communication, Negotiation, Commitment, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking


Previous experience in one or more of the following:

  • Research projects management with several partners
  • Drug development / pharmaceutical roles and projects
  • Establishment of Spin-off or Startups
  • Establishment of license agreement
  • Establishment of research agreement / partnerships in healthcare
  • Establishment of financial accords with investors (public or private)


  • Number of available position: 1
  • Starting date: ASAP, ideally February - March 2022
  • Working conditions:
  • Full time, probation period followed by indefinite contract
  • Salary will be commensurate with previous experience
  • Measures to reconcile work and family life (flexible schedule working hours, teleworking, etc.)
  • Ideal candidate would be preferably located in Barcelona (Spain), prevalently working from home (teleworking), available to travel locally and internationally (as needed

Hemostatics is developing a novel antifibrinolytic agent to reduce bleeding in life-threatening and disabling haemorrhagic conditions. Thanks to an innovative mechanism of action to inhibit fibrinolysis, our patented preclinical candidate is aiming to address a number of significant unmet medical needs in trauma, surgery, ICH, PPH, GI bleeding and in several bleeding disorders (Rare Diseases).
